A Shropshire wedding at Oakley Hall
What an incredible day. Where to start with describing this wedding? The setting was simply stunning. The weather was unbelievable for April. The couple are amazing, and the guests were all up for a great time. I love weddings like this one so much.
Harriet and Richie had their wedding ceremony at a beautiful quaint village church, followed by a reception at Oakley Hall in Shropshire. The venue strictly limits the number of weddings each year to a small number, making it one of the most exclusive venues in the area.
When I talked to Harriet before the wedding, she had told me that they weren’t great at having their photographs taken, and might feel awkward. You wouldn’t have known it by the time we finished the portrait session, as they seemed totally at ease and look amazing. I had first met Harriet when she was a bridesmaid at Rebecca and Matt’s wedding at Delbury Hall last year. That was a really fun wedding, and it was so nice to see some familiar faces again. They’re such a great crowd of people and were all on good form again.
Into the evening we went for a second portrait session around sunset. We took a walk down to the lake, surrounded by the Shropshire countryside. You couldn’t ask for a more beautiful setting, and we kept on making images as the sun dropped below the trees over the lake. It was perfect.
I think one of my favourite moments of the wedding was their embrace at the end of the first dance. Such a heart felt hug, and with the sky still glowing red from the sunset, that moment summed up the whole day for me. Hope you enjoy having a look at these photographs.
