“I now know why people say wedding photos are to cherish for a lifetime – we truly will”
It’s fair to say that there’s always that slight added pressure when photographing the wedding of another wedding photographer! I really had no reason to be worried though, because this was a really fantastically enjoyable wedding to photograph.
From the first time I met Kathryn and she told me about her plans for the day I was excited to photograph it. The way she talks about the day it was obvious that it was really focused on who they are and would be very personal.
I mean, you can’t get much more personal than having your wedding ceremony in the beautiful gardens of your parent’s home and the home that you grew up in. After the main ceremony there was a small and intimate legal ceremony nearby, before heading back to the house for more fun.
The celebrations continued into the evening with speeches, food and Cèilidh dancing. Watching these two celebrate their day together was an absolute joy, as was sharing the photographs with them after the wedding.
I recently received this lovely feedback from Kathryn which will be added to the testimonials page soon…
“As a wedding photographer myself, the first thing people asked me when we got engaged was ‘Who will you get to do your wedding photos?” But for me, it wasn’t a difficult choice. Pete’s work stood out a mile from others in the area, plus he was happy to travel to where we were getting married at no extra cost. He took a grilling from me on some technicalities with humour and humility, and was just a decent guy to be around. His quiet, gentle manner was so non-intrusive on the day that I didn’t feel uncomfortable at all despite normally hiding behind a camera myself! He captured so many expressions, moments and the sheer energy of the day in his beautiful shots, I now know why people say wedding photos are to cherish for a lifetime – we truly will.”
