Back in the spring, I photographed this amazing day in Derbyshire. Paul and Vicky had their ceremony at the really stunning Haddon Hall, followed by an intimate reception at their local pub near Matlock. What a pleasure it was to be a Haddon Hall Wedding Photographer!

This was my first wedding at Haddon Hall. It’s hard not to love the long ceremony room, not only it is a beautiful room, but it also has really beautiful light from the large windows at the side.

Grand room + beautiful light. All that’s missing from that equation is some emotion-filled moments, and thankfully Vicky and Paul brought plenty of those with them.

Watching and documenting those moments was a real joy. Just beautiful, honest, emotion and connection. It’s the only thing that really matters, and it’s what I love about documenting weddings.

They couldn’t have asked for a better spring day to be able to enjoy the amazing grounds at Haddon Hall. Them and their guests enjoyed the warm sunshine for an hour or so before heading on to the reception. But just before heading off we took some quick portraits in the gardens. When we met before the wedding they were clear that the most important thing to them was to capture the emotion and the story of the day, but we couldn’t resist using those grounds for a quick portrait session to add to the story of their day.

Back at the pub, just as they arrived for the reception, one of my favourite moments of the year took place! Take a look through the images to see if you can stop the moment that Paul gets his priorities right 😉

Loved this entire day from start to finish and I was delighted to get these two bits of feedback from Paul and Vicky…

“What can we say other than you are a photographic genius, made us both weep as we relived the day through the slide show.

Amazing, amazing, amazing. Thanks so much. Vicky looks fantastic and the way you captured our family and friends was awesome.”

“The photos are fantastic. The taster gallery was amazing but the rest of the portfolio is awesome. Can’t thank you enough for working your magic to capture the emotions of our big day.”
