A Derbyshire Wedding in the countryside
From the first time I met Claire and Paul at her parents house, I knew this wedding would be a real pleasure to photograph. The whole family was incredibly welcoming as they showed me around their gardens and talked about where the marquee would be for the wedding. The day itself came earlier this year; it was the peak of the summer and one of the hottest days of the year.
More than anything else, it is the people that really make a wedding, and Claire and Paul’s family and friends were all on fine form throughout the whole day. There was a definite festive feel to the day; maybe it was the sunshine, or the marquee in the garden, or the numerous tents pitched behind the marque where a group of their friends were staying that night. I loved every minute of it, and could tell that everyone else there did too.
Sometimes the details, the timings, the need for perfection can get the best of people on their wedding day. It is understandable as there is a lot of preparation that goes into making sure everything is just right. However, I think Claire’s expression, as a guest who was running late sprinted past her outside the church, sums up her relaxed attitude perfectly. This was a day that was all about celebration and joy.
Derbyshire Wedding Photographer
As a Derbyshire Wedding Photographer I get to see some fantastic areas of the country on a regular basis, and this setting was as pretty as the best of them. Driving through the winding countryside between Melbourne and Burton-on-trent I was reminded of just how lucky I am to have such a beautiful landscape so close to home, and even luckier to be able to photograph it so often.
After the ceremony at the local church, the rest of the day was spent back at the marquee in Claire’s parent’s fields. The music played, the dancing began, and spirits were high. Claire, Paul, and their little boy Noah were a joy to photograph and spend the day with, and I wish the all the happiness for the future.
