I love the challenge and atmosphere of a winter wedding, and was delighted when Emma and Scott chose me to be their Belvoir Castle Wedding Photographer. I first met Scott and Emma at their home in Nottingham earlier in the year and had chance to hear all about the plans for the wedding. Although the rain poured all day, it didn’t disrupt the celebrations in the slightest. The venue is a traditional castle with a grand interior. On the day they had large fires lit in the main room which gave a cosy warming feeling even in such a large grand venue. The low levels of natural light at a winter wedding often means making the most of any artificial light that is around, and a subtle use of camera flashes. The Christmas light created some great opportunities for some creative portraits around Belvoir Castle. After some great speeches the celebrations continued into the night when the superb T I Funk provided the entertainment. Many thanks to Beth of Encanta Events for looking after us on the wedding day and doing such a great job. I look forward to sharing all of the photographs with Emma and Scott, and seeing which they pick to go into their Queensberry Album. As always here is just a small selection of my favourite images from the day.
